In September 2015, 193 Heads of State and Government met at the 70th Session of the United Nations General Assembly, in which the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development was approved.

The 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) of the 2030 Agenda recognizes that the eradication of poverty in all its forms and dimensions, including extreme poverty, is the greatest challenge facing the world, and is an essential requirement for sustainable development.

Constructed at a global level through a broad consultation process, the Agenda promotes the participatory inclusion of each of the sectors of society.

The SDGs seek to redirect the resources of public and private investments worldwide, towards the challenges they represent. In doing so, they define growing markets for companies that can deliver innovative solutions and transformative change.
