Antoni Gómez, the international chair of Auren, IFAC SMP Committee Member and vicepresident of the Catalonian Institute of Chartered Accountants talks about the character of public interest of Accountants and the necessity to protect the financial information.

In opinion of Mr Gomez, an accountant must to work with independency and objectively. Because of this, Accountant profession is one of the most regulated because their responsibilities are enormous, he adds. The international chair of Auren highlights 20% of auditing reports are made voluntarily and only a reduced group of them are sanctioned.
